The tradeoff is their budget priced hobby lasers have somewhat smaller cutting areas than my Universal.
Their replacement laser cartriges are supposed to be substantially less than those from Universal and similar. As I understand it this company uses Chinese guts but their own mother board and software. Jin here on RCG has a laser from this firm, and I know a couple other people who have them as well. Here's a laser that's been getting good reviews, and a price point way way less than I paid for my 12x24 Universal Laser six years ago. Now I want to get a laser cutting rig for home but it's hard to justify to the wife especially when it may cost more than my car is worth.
I particularly like the ant and magnifying glass analogy.
